Chinese Theatre is a male-female duo from Sweden. While I missed their debut-cd "Voices & Machines", this ep serves as a very good introduction to get a bit more familiar with the electro-pop of Chinese Theatre. I can't affirm they're making a new style of synth-pop, but it's definitely pleasant and catchy.
This ep features 13 tracks, mainly remixes from the title-song and the excellent "I'm Leaving You Behind". I even prefer this 2nd track recovered with a melancholic flavor and sexy female vocals. The "Second original version" of "I'm Leaving You Behind" sounds a bit more EBM-minded while the "No Control remix" has a more pronounced techno connotation. Both mixes are really cool! The title-song is cool as well and especially the "Prototyp body sixkiller mix", which is definitely more clubby orientated. As a bonus we also get a cover version of Pet Shop Boys' famous "Opportunities".
I hope to hear some more stuff from this duo, which pleased me a lot!
